New materials published and an upcoming exciting event

In the Barents Invasive Alien Species project, we have been busy producing new materials and organising a networking event for IAS professionals in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

WWF has created info cards for each target species of the project. They contain general information about the species, but also tips for managing them. The info cards can be found in Swedish, Finnish and Norwegian.

Rural Women’s Advisory Organization (MKN) is working on producing short videos about IAS in the Barents region, focusing especially on the IAS heroes that do significant work in managing invasive alien plants. We are looking forward to publishing the videos later this autumn! Meanwhile, have a read at the new IAS heroes blog posts written by Susanna Winnqvist of MKN – learn more about IAS work in Tromsø and how the event in Rovaniemi went.

Do you still remember the educational webinar series organised by WWF in April? You can freshen your memory or share the series further with subtitles in Finnish, Swedish or Norwegian (and in one video, English). All videos can be found on the Youtube channel of our project.

Last but not least, we welcome everyone interested to sign up for a pink salmon webinar on the 30th of October (in Finnish). This is an exciting opportunity to hear more about the research done in this project, together with different perspectives on pink salmon in Finland and free discussion around the topic.
